I'm new to this group and I'm looking for Johnson Robbins. He was born in NJ about 1814. He moved to Northeastern PA where I show him in the 1880 census in Huntington Twp, Luzerne County. He has married Catherine, who was born in PA and I believe they had at least 2 children, William & Rosabell. Can anyone link this family back to NJ? Any help would be greatly appreciated... I still don't have the answer as to how Johnson b. 1814 links to the NJ line but here is some additional information. The Johnson Robbins who married Elmina Davis was the son of Timothy & his 2nd wife Phebe Miller Robbins. He descended from 10-Aaron, Samuel, Randal, Timothy, b. 9/20/1771, Johnson b ? NJ, d ? in NJ. The only child of Johnson & Elmina that I am aware of is Theodore Robbins b. 1832 at New Egypt, married Lydia A. Hankins. Theodore & Lydia's descendants are found in the book " Lila W. Thompson, A Woman for All Seasons" by Donald C. Thompson. A quote from Charles R. Hutchinson," After the death of his second wife, Timothy Robbins, having involved himself in debt, the penalty for which at that time was imprisonment, absconded and went to Ohio, where he married (third) the widow of Stephen Ford. I am told there are still numerous descendants of this marriage in Ohio. In his old age Timothy returned to New Jersey, and lived in a house which he built on the farm of his son George (the farm late of Horatio Mount, now owned by Charles H. & Elwood C. Tantum), near Robbins Burying Ground where he is buried. His grave, which is marked only by an unlettered field stone, is directly west of that of Charles R, son of Aaron and Abigail Schuyler, whose headstone is right at his feet." Any ideas who these numerous Robbins children were by Timothy's 3rd wife or the time frame referred to by Hutchinson for debt imprisonment? There was another Johnson or Johnston Robbins b.12/9/1802, son of James & Rachel Silvers Robbins. According to Charles R. Hutchinson, this line is also 10-Aaron, Daniel, Leonard, James, Johnston. "Johnston removed to Rochester, New York in 1824 where he died 4/8/1880, leaving a widow & four children." I can find him in the NY census. Possibly this information on his residence as NY isn't correct? Sara
