He lived in Hunterdon Co. and his will was dated 24 Sep 1751. Even though Derrick Hoff's will was written in 1722, it wasn't proven until 1730 so it's not clear when he died. We don't have an exact birth year for John Jr., but he presumably could have been old enough to have been buying either land, animals or feed on credit from either Derrick Hoff or from his estate between c1728-1748 when the inventory to Hoff's estate was recorded. John Lake, whose will was dated 22 Feb 1752, could have been the "Jon. Lake" from the inventory list since although he lived in New Brunswick, he had land in Hunterdon Co. per his will.
