Family Search Hunterdon County, New Jersey Deeds, Vol. 59, 1834-1835, page 210-212 Film # 806993 DGS #8351398 Image 117-118 Aaron Furman & wife to John S Lake This Indenture made this first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty five Between Aaron Furman of the Township of Ewing in the county of Hunterdon and state of New Jersey and Jemima his wife party of the first part and John S Lake of the Township of Lawrence in the county and state aforesaid party of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all that certain lot of land situate in the Township of Lawrence aforesaid and is butted and bounded as follows viz, Beginning at a Stone Corner to the said John S Lake in Ralph Lannings line thence with Lannings line North thence ten degrees and three quarters East five chains and forty links to a Stone Corner to Israel Hendrickson wood Lot thence with Hendricksons line South Eight degrees East six chains and twenty links to a Stone in Charles Reeders line thence with Reeders line thence with Reeders line South twenty Eight degrees degrees [EDITORS NOTE: I have no idea why these words were repeated or underlined] and three quarters West five chains and forty seven links to a Stone Corner to said John S Lake thence with said Lakes line North seventy degrees West four chains and fifty links to the place of Beginning containing three acres and five hundredths of Land be the Same more or Less Together with all and Singular xxxxxxxx [EDITORS NOTE: There is a word crossed out in the original document where the xxx’s are] rights liberties privileges hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reasons and reminders rents issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof: also all the Estate right title interest use Possession Property claim and demand whatsoever both in law and equity of them the said party of the first part of in and to the same To have and to hold the said land hereditaments and premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Aaron Furman & wife for themselves their heirs Executors and administrators do hereby covenant promise and grant to and with the said party of the [EDITORS NOTE: first was written here and crossed out and the word “second” written above] second part his heirs and assigns. that at the time of the sealing and delivery hereof they the said party of the first part were seized in their own right of an absolute and indefeasible Estate of inheritance in fee simple of and in all and singular the premises hereby granted with the appurtenances and have good right full power and sufficient authority in the law to grant bargain sell and convey the same in manner aforesaid and according to the true intent and meaning of these presents and also that it shall and may be lawful for the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns at all times forever and after peaceably and quietly to have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the said premises with the appurtenances without the lawful let suit eviction interruption or disturbance of the said party of the first part their heirs or assigns; and that the said premises are free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted and discharged of and from all mortgages Judgements Executions and of all other incumbrances whatever done committed or sufficed by the said Party of the first part and lastly that they the said party of the first part and their heirs all and singular the said land and premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against all persons or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same by from or under the said party of the said party of the first part shall and will warrant and forever defend In Witness whereof the said parties have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Aaron Furman (seal) Jemima Furman (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered In presence of Daniel Cook State of New Jersey Hunterdon County ss Be it remembered that on this first day of January AD Eighteen hundred and thirty five before me Daniel Cook one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in said county personally appeared Aaron Furman and Jemima his wife and I being satisfied they were the grantors mentioned in the foregoing Deed and the contents thereof being by me made known to them acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the same as their voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes therein expressed and the said Jemima Furman being by me privately examined separate and apart from her husband did acknowledge that she signed sealed and delivered the same without any fear threat or compulsion from her husband whatever.
