If there is a record of their children I've not seen it. 1. Woodbridge and Vicinity mentions Capt. Daniel Britton a prominent man who died there in 1733 and buried in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery with his children. This indicates the Britton family lived at Woodbridge, Middlesex County. 2. A Benjamin Britton is named in Stillwell's Historical Miscellany pg. 52. On 27 Oct 1708 Richmond County Staten Island Records. Recorded for Commissioners of High Ways., " Brook near the house where Benjamin Britton lately dwelt." Did Benjamin Britton leave Richmond County for Woodbridge? No record for him there. 3. Nathaniel Britton is recorded in the Elijah Robins Bible Record 1773. Elijah's wife was Sarah Britton. This family may be connected to Benjamin Britton in previous generations. 4. Will of John Britton b. 21 Jul 1737 Monmouth Co., NJ d. 7 Mar 1816 Phila, PA names son Benjamin Britton deceased. John Britton was the son of Richard and Hannah Salter Britton. It doesn't fit the time frame for John Britton's son to be the Benjamin Britton who married Dinah Robins. She married Benjamin Britton 1/17/1750 also of Middlesex Co." I wonder what the chances are that Dinah is a daughter of Jonathan ROBINS (1694-1774) since: 1. Jonathan married a Dinah. 2. The timing is right for Dinah to be a daughter of Jonathan. 3. Snell says Jonathan had daughters, names unknown. However, I don't see any evidence that Jonathan ever lived in Middlesex Co, only Monmouth & Hunterdon. How was Dinah "of" Middlesex Co? Do you know the names of the children of Benjamin BRITTON & Dinah ROBINS ? -- Marshall Lake -- marshallelake@gmail.com -- http://www.mlake.net
