I've obtained some copies of New Jersey Supreme Court papers that are arrest warrants for Richard Robins of New Brunswick Twp, Middlesex County. (Case involved debt to Robert Scott) The warrants are dated from about 1735 to 1741 (dated by 9th to 15th year of reign of George II). On the back of the last one is noted "The Defendt lives Somewhere about Maples Town". At least it sort of looks like "Maples" to me. Can anyone please identify this Richard Robins? Can any other Robins be associated with this locality? Thanks. Could the location be Hightstown? Another possibility might be Maplewood. John G, Chris, Gary, Henry Charlton Beck, in his The Jersey Midlands pg. 201 refers to "a hamlet once pointed out as Mapletown." It was in the vicinity of Kingston that he describes as being on the Delaware & Raritan Canal next to the Millstone River. Which branches of the Robins family might have been residing in New Brunswick Township, Middlesex County, in the 1720s and 30s? Thanks.
