Times Herald-Record Middletown, NY 17 Jan 2018 January 23, 1935 - January 14, 2018 Port Jervis, NY Joan Crystal Dubies nee Robbins of Port Jervis, New York entered eternal rest on Sunday evening January 14, 2018, with her loving daughter, Annamarie and sister, Grace by her bedside. Joan was born on January 23, 1935 in Sussex, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Albert Robbins and Pheobe DeVore Robbins. Joan is survived by her devoted husband and partner of 63 years, Gustav F. Dubies, daughter Annamarie Dubies Appel, son in law Gregory V. Appel, sister, Grace Carmody, twin brothers, Jim Robbins and John Robbins. She is also survived by brother in law, Harmon Masker and longtime friend Thomas Parkinson as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings: Marguerite Hayes, Albert Robbins, Laura Potter, William Robbins, Dixie Masker, Jack Robbins, Betty Masker, Marjorie King, Donald Robbins, Frederick Robbins, Wayne Robbins and her very special aunt, Hattie DeVore and dear friend, Kate Parkinson. Both Joan and her husband, Gus came from humble beginnings and with a strong ethic of hard work accomplished a great deal during their 63 year marriage. They were the business owners of Carroll & Dubies Inc, Joan’s Christmas Trees and rental property owners and managers. Joan was smart, fearless, honest, loyal and determined. She loved her only child, Annamarie, with all her heart and soul. She instilled in her daughter the importance of higher education. Joan and Gus were inseparable. During the summers, they were often seen leisurely driving around in their 1930 Model A Ford. Joan and Gus were regulars at local antique auctions, acquiring American Cut Glass and other antiquities. Joan also enjoyed flower gardening. Friends may call at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20th at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am with Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating. Burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA.
