Date: Wed, 13 May 2020 07:30:00 -0500 From: Tracey Marcelo I ran across something I didn't at all expect--with the name "Vinson Robins" on it. There was a court case in Sussex Co. in 1792 between George Marks and wife Catherine vs. John Mackey. I followed John Mackey (McKee, McKey etc.) because he has a connection to Howey and Clark. Details are: Case # 26127 Mackey, John (Defendant) George Marks and Catherine Marks (Widow of Christopher Aynesly) v. John Mackey Dower (issued from Chancery Court against pledges of prosecution; for 1/3 part of 20 acres of land in Greenwich, Sussex County) and Writ of Seisin (1797) Sussex 1792 - 1797 In any case, the very first page says: Pledge of prosecution: John Doe and Richard Roe Summoners: Vinson Robins, Henry Vroome Jr. ... (See attached) Robins and Vroome are never mentioned again. The legal dictionary online gives the definition you would expect: SUMMONERS. Petty officers who cite men to appear in any court. Cris' Vincent was in Kentucky in 1792. So perhaps this is the Vincent who went to Columbia Co. PA? Or...another Vincent we havent accounted for yet?? Anyway...I don't mean to derail any part of the conversation here. But how weird that I even FOUND that obscure mention of Vinson Robins last night. I wasn't looking for any Robins to be in that record! And I had only picked it up and flipped through it while looking through the stack for any original Robins records. My notes say that John Jr was born around 1725 and Daniel was born around 1737. I think the John Jr year was extrapolated from the birth years of his kids who seem to have been born around 1750 or so.
