George F. Kernan III
of Franklin Township, PA
George F. Kernan III, 61, of Franklin Township, PA, passed away Tuesday,
April 7, 2009, at CMC Scranton, PA. He is survived by his loving wife of
twenty years, Cheryl. Also surviving are his sons, Ryan M. Kernan and
Tyler J. Kernan; daughters, Darcy L. Kernan and Kaitlyn Rose Kernan;
three brothers, Gary Kernan, Kevin and Anne Kernan, and Sean and Nancy
Kernan; his first wife and Ryan's mother, Andrea Kernan; and many nieces
and nephews. George was employed as a lieutenant police officer for
Kenilworth, NJ and retired after twenty-five years of service. Then he
started working as a rural route carrier for the United States Postal
Service for Hallstead and Kingsley. George loved his family immensely
and cherished every moment with them.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11,
2009, at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Hallstead, PA. The family
will receive callers from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday. Should friends so desire,
expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Kernan
Children's Education Fund, c/o People's National Bank.
