I have been stuck for 3 yrs searching my Lake ancestor's who showed
up in Greene Co in abt 1820's.  The earliest reference I have is from
the death cert of a gr.. grandmother, Elizabeth "Betsy" Lake wife of
Fosdick ABRAMS.  Her parents are listed as William Lake & Martha Miller.
Betsy's age on death cert indicates she would have been born in abt 1793.
From another researcher it is quite probable that William Lake & Martha
Miller may have also had a Martha Lake married to Israel ABRAMS, Jr
(brother of Fosdick) and a Joseph Lake married to Mary Abrams (sister
of Fosdick & Israel, Jr).  The Joseph LAKE family moved to Cayuga Co as
well as the Israel ABRAMS family.
