Together with her brother Auguste they left Le Havre, France on the SS. Champagne, and arrived in NY on Feb 27, 1888. (his immigration record says Feb 26 1888). He was a 21 year old butcher; he was identified as being German. Auguste was the Butcher at the orphanage at Mount Loretto. Eugenie was 18 when she arrived. I cannot find a sign of her after this arrival. There is talk in the family that Auguste had a sister who was a Catholic nun. Does anyone have any ideas how to research this, with her name? I would also like to know the town in Alsace they were from -- haven't been able to get any naturalization records which have that level of detail. All help and ideas are most welcome. His brother Mendel was next to arrive in 1912 by which time they were at Bay St, Stapleton. By 1914 when a third brother Morris arrived they were in Bay St, Stapleton. It is possible that Meyer changed his surname to ISRAEL. From this point they disappear. Any further leads would be really helpful.
