"Saddened"

On the Fourth, a son of Daniel Lake of Mariners' Harbor, was the
unfortunate victim of an accident, which has cost him the sight of one
of his eyes.  He was engaged  in setting off a sky rocket.  There was
a sudden explosion, by means of which the sight of one eye was totally
destroyed and fears are expressed for the safety of the other yet.
The sufferer was attended by Dr. W. C. Walser.
