Hi Everyone,

Here are some of the Lake family autosomal DNA matches to my aunt, Elizabeth Hopper.  First - these are only connected to the family of James
Lake & Mary Rogers of western Connecticut.  I do not know of any connections to the Gravesend Lake family.  Second:  please respect the privacy
of the people named and do not share outside this group.  Thanks.

James Lake & Mary Rogers had seven known children:

1. Samuel Lake - born 1725 - married Abigail Roberts
2. James Lake, Jr. - born 1727 - married Sarah Hendrix
3. Charity Lake - born 1729 - married David Barnum
4. Daniel Lake - born 1730
5. Rogers Lake - born 1732
6. John Lake - born c.1734 - married Abigail Hoyt
7. Mary Lake - born c.1738 - married Thomas Landers

These are Aunt Betty's most important Lake matches and their shared matches:

Kathryn Landers - 37 cM - descendant of Mary Lake & Thomas Landers (and possibly a descendant of Ebenezer Barnum & Abigail Skeels) - shared
matches with:
1. Todd Norton - descendant of Daniel Hull & Ruth Barnum
2. Joan Adams Sesma - descendant of Daniel Hull & Ruth Barnum
3. Mercedes Flores - descendant of Samuel Lake & Abigail Roberts
4. Kevin Lake - male-lineage descendant of Samuel Lake & Abigail Roberts
5. Leroy Kasper - descendant of Mary Lake & Thomas Landers

Mercedes Flores - 29 cM - one grandfather from United States - other three grandparents from Mexico - descendant of Samuel Lake & Abigail
Roberts - shared matches with:

Kevin Lake - 28 cM - direct male-lineage descendant of Samuel Lake & Abigail Roberts - shared matches with:

Leroy Kasper - 26 cM - descendant of Mary Lake & Thomas Landers - shared matches with:
1. Joan Adams Sesma
2. Kathryn Landers
3. Mercedes Flores
4. Kevin Lake

Another person who matches the above is Mark Zanchelli, who descends from Lexia (Lake) Richardson, daughter of Samuel Potter Lake, son of
Zachariah Lake.  I have not connected Zachariah to the family of James Lake & Mary Rogers, but it looks like he belongs with them.

And another match is Arlene (Gould) Ingersoll, a descendant of Mary Lake & Thomas Landers.  All of her identified shared matches with Aunt
Betty connect with descendants of the Southwick & Irish families, so I don't claim her as part of the "proof."

Aunt Betty has a few matches to descendants of the Skeels family (David Barnum's parents were Ebenezer Barnum & Abigail Skeels), and some of
these have shared matches with other descendants of Daniel Hull & Ruth Barnum,

The Barnum family has been a little more fleeting as far as convincing matches.  I have not even attempted the Rogers family.
