Robbins): 1752/3 - Elisha Robbins made land entries on Muddy Creek and Pole Cat Creek in Anson Co; soon to be Rowan Co, and now Randolph Co., NC. An Edward Thornbury actually completed the Muddy creek land purchase the same year 1757 - Richard and Elisha Robbins are chain carriers for survey for Marmaduke Vickery (son-in-law of John and Bethiah (Robins) Nation.) 1759 - William Robins witness and Elisha and Richard Robins chain carriers for another survey for Marmaduke Vickery. (William Robins also a son-in-law of John and Bethiah (Robins) Nation. [55.21, child vi ?]) 1759 - the land entered by Elisha Robbins in 1753 is granted to John Nation 1759 tax list - no Elisha, and he is not found again. --------- Now I have one new piece of information from the land grant to John Nation: the warrant was issued to Elisha Robins, however on the back is endorsed "turned over to Jo Nation, Robins out of province". So no longer should anyone assume Elisha Robins died about 1759. I ponder that Daniel Robins III might have named a son after his grandfather Elisha Parker. Such a son could possibly be in his early 40s in 1759. But I can't claim any evidence to back up this idea. Is there any hope of making a case that he went from NJ to NC and back to NJ again? Very little is known about the Elisha Robins of Hunterdon Co listed in the will of John Severans of Trenton in 1732. The time frame is such that he could be one of the 13 children of Daniel Robins, Jr whose names are unknown or a son not named in any document for Daniel Robins, III. There is no evidence that either one had a son Elisha but quite possible. 1. 1758 Elisha Robins took an inventory for Tom Pettit of Newton Township, Sussex Co., NJ. 2. 1759 the Elisha Robins of NC is in another province & no longer on the tax list. 3. 1763, the inventory of Elisha Robins, Jr of Newton Township, Sussex Co., NJ names an Elisha Robins as the adminstrator. Elisha Robins living in Sussex Co. in 1732 may have gone to NC & returned by 1758 to NJ. I don't know of documents naming an Elisha Robins before 1732 in NJ or between 1732 & 1758 in NJ. There could be but I'm not aware of them. We can assume the following Elisha's are related but not sure how. 1. Elisha Robins, Sr b. abt 1708 & died ? He was an adult in 1732 from the Severans will so we know he was over 21. It's assumed he was Elisha Robins, Sr. 2. Elisha Robins, Jr. b. ? & died in 1763 from his inventory. 3. Elisha Robins his administrator in 1763 could have been his son but nothing to prove it. William Tharp was one of the witnesses. A possible descendant of William Tharp & Lydia Robins daughter of Daniel & Hope. Are there any DNA tests for the Elisha Robins of NC line that shows a Daniel Robins, Sr. of NJ relationship?
