4377. Ralsamond7 Clark (Wealthy Ann6 Holcombe, Dan5, Judah4, Lt. Nathaniel3,
Nathaniel2, Thomas1)(4441) was born December 18, 1796.

He married Dorothy Bates Holcombe Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH, May 15, 1823.
Dorothy was born Granby, CT October 16, 1799 or 1800. Dorothy(4442)
was the daughter of Grove Catlin Holcombe and Aurelia Holcombe. Dorothy
died September 20, 1886 in Cleveland, Ohio, at 86 years of age. Dorathy
came from Granby in 1819 with friends who wre going to Fairport, Ohio;
from there she, accompanied by a boy, rode on horseback to Vernon, Ohio,
whre she lived with her aunt, Mrs. Sterling (Holcomb) Bushnell. She
commenced teaching in the Giddings district and continued until her
marriage. Mr. Clark came from Hartland, CT to Vernon, Ohio, with his
parents in January, 1814, having passed through Buffalo, N.Y., two weeks
after it was burned by the British.  His father was a dealer in cattle.

At the time of their marriage, Ralsamond was "Vernon's wealthiest
resident."  [17] An 1850 map of Trumbull County shows he owned at least
eleven pieces of property, some of them sizeable and most concentrated
east of Pymatuning Creek along the Kinsman-Orangeville Road. [10] The
couple made their home west of the creek, however, in Vernon Center on
what is now # 6099 on Ohio Route 7 in a house that the state's inventory
of historic properties lists as still standing.

died January 12, 1857 at 27 years of age. She married William R. Chapman.

[child] 6401 v. Julia Louisa Clark was born Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH
May 1831. Julia died August 30, 1898 at 67 years of age. She married
Dr. James Brackin.

[child] 6402 vi. Grove Eber Clark was born Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH
1833. He married Sarah Lake.
