Smock Harold Lake Sr. Harold Lake Sr., 81, of Smock, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Show Lake. He was a member of The Church of God, a life member of V.F.W. Post 47, American Legion Post 51, a life member of AMVETS, Post 103, a board member of F.A.C.A., Uniontown and Monessen Nutrition Council, was a retired coal miner, retiring from U.S. Steel after 41 years, a member of the U.M.W.A., Local 1248, the Smock Senior Citizens, received the Humanitarian for all of Southwestern, Pa., Senior Citizens on Aging on June 29, 1999, and a dinner was held at the Holiday Inn, the Citizen of the Month Award from the Board of Fayette County Commissioners in October, 1999, and the Highest Honor Award from The Church of God on May 30, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, whom he married on Dec. 12, 1940, Evelyn R. (Showman) Lake; five sons, Harold R. Lake and wife, Joan of Smock, Pa., Stanley (Pat) Lake and wife, Sharon of Birmingham, Ala., Fred D. Lake and wife, Donna of Uniontown, Pa., Larry E. Lake and wife, Crystal of Hopwood, Pa., and Brian K. Lake and wife, Janice of Miller Farms; seven granddaughters; four grandsons; four great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons. Friends will be received in the JAMES D. BARNETT FUNERAL HOME, 196 West Main St., Uniontown, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, in The Church of God, Route 51 North, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Elliott Leighty officiating. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. AMVETS Post 103 will conduct military rites at graveside in the New Veterans Plot. 1221.
