Charles R. Beck Sr.
WEST PITTSTON, PA
Charles R. Beck Sr., 103, of West Pittston, PA, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019, at his residence.
Charles was born in Bangor, PA, on Sept. 19, 1915, a son of the late Raymond J and Esther S. (Rowe) Beck.
Charles was a self-employed dairy farmer in Mt. Bethel, PA. After that, he worked at the former Collins and Aikman in Pen Argyl, PA. Charles was a graduate of Portland High School. He enjoyed spending his time wood carving, fishing, and traveling the United States.
He was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Mt. Bethel, PA.
Charles is survived by two sons, Douglas C. Beck, husband of Emma and Charles R. Beck Jr., husband of Mary, a sister, Ruth Bartholomew, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Roy, and Fred Beck, a stepbrother, Howard Ott and a stepsister, Bernice Ott.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at St. John's Cemetery, Bangor, PA, with Rev. Rodney W. Wells officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
