Arlene J. Raub Arlene J. Raub, 91, formerly of Hanover Township and Palmer Township, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, in Alexandria Manor, Bethlehem. Born Jan. 3, 1926, in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Helen Overfield Johnson. Her beloved husband of 57 years, Richard D. Raub, died March 8, 2006. She was last employed by the former Valley Federal Savings and Loan, where she worked for over 20 years. Previously, she worked as a bookkeeper for the former Levin's Men's Store. Years ago she had also worked for UGI. She was a 1943 graduate of Easton High School. Arlene enjoyed having family picnics and get-togethers, playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle and going to casinos. She was a member of Green Pond United Methodist Church, formerly Calvary United Methodist Church, since 1941. Arlene loved going to church and spending time with her church family. Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Pangaio and her husband, Manny, of Bethlehem; two grandsons, Stephen Pangaio and his wife, Shelia, and Gregory Pangaio and his companion, Moria Eaton; four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Seth, Alexa and Mackenzie; nieces and nephews, Diane Rute and her husband, Rob, Donald Renkert and his wife, Fran, Joan Wilbur and her husband, Jim; a niece-in-law, Barbara Renkert; great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Marion Illick and a nephew, Robert Renkert. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Green Pond United Methodist Church, 4411 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem Township. Call 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
