Another completely separate thing I'll just mention is that I happen to have a picture of a Quaker Marriage Certificate in Newport, Rhode Island in 1709. A few years ago, I was visiting my elderly aunt in Maryland (she still lives in my birthplace) and her best friend (no family connection with us) owns the certificate. Her friend asked if I could find out how she came to own the certificate. I found her ancestral line that explains her connection but what interested me with your note is that the certificate has a lot of signatures on it of the 'great and good' in Newport at the time. Marge had the Philadelphia Museum seal the certificate I think in the 1980s or so and on the back it says: Inline image I quickly checked for any Spicers amongst the signatories but alas I didn't find any. But I attach the certificate (sorry, not a great copy since it's behind glass) and a close-up of the signatures in case by chance you spot any lingering family connections from the Newport area. Kim
