Sandra "Sandy" Fay Lake

Sandra "Sandy" Fay Lake passed peacefully at her home in Spartanburg, SC at the age of 77, on October 29, 2021, after a long battle with COPD.

Born to Viola and Friend "Ticker" Smith of Accord, NY, she is predeceased by siblings Janice Bush, James Smith, Carol Holcomb, Donald Smith, Harry Smith, and Valerie Hill. She is survived by her sister Barbara Miller of Dodd City, TX.

She married and was predeceased by her first husband, Wilmont "Monty" Shedrick, and both are survived by their three children, Tina Kelder & husband Scott of Olivebridge, Laurie Shedrick & fiancé, Tim Shay of Saugerties, and son Monty Shedrick of ST. Claire, MO. She leaves behind two beloved grandchildren Katie and Zachary Kelder.

She married Robert "Bob" Lake in 1995 and they shared 26 happy years together. Sandy became a stepmother to Samantha Rochelle & her husband Adam and a grandmother to Adia and Sawyer, whom she loved very much. Bob was by her side when she passed.

Sandy's great joys were quilting & spending time with her family and friends, including those she made while working at the NY State Thruway Authority. Special friend, Laurie Gropf was a joy in her last days.

Sandy leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her greatly. A memorial service will be held at the Samsonville United Methodist Church in the Spring. The time and date will be posted by family.
