I just joined this sight last night and I do not know how to find your family line that you posted a few years ago. If possible could you fwd. that info. to me at my personal email address listed below? I do not have much information before George Henry and Nancy Ellen Lewis Robbins. My dad is the son of Roy Horace and Roberta Helen Gribble Robbins. His mother Roberta died when he was only 3 years and 1 mo. old. Roberta's sister and her husband, Eva and I. W. Morris took my dad and raised him after his mothers death. My understanding is that his dad traveled from Plano to Houston a lot for his job with a seed co. When my dad started to high school at Plano his dad, Roy Horace Robbins rented an apt. in Plano and my dad lived with his father during that time. Unfortunately his dad took pneumonia and died my dads Sr. year of high school. So dads time with his father was very short. My dad does have very fond memories of his dad picking him up for every holiday and going to his grandfathers house "Papa". Dads Papa was Wilbur Jeff Robbins, son of George and Nancy Robbins. Wilbur Jeff was very well respected in Plano and in Collin Co., TX. He was county commissioner for two terms in the 1920's, he was on the City Council for Plano and he was on the board of several banks in Plano. My dad never got to spend much time with the Robbins side of his family because of being raised by the aunt on his mothers side. Dad did not even know that his great grandparents, George and Nancy, ever came to TX. nor did he know that they were buried in Plano Mutual cemetery until I started doing the Robbins genealogy this past summer. We are very interested in any information that you might be able to share with us. Please feel free to email me any information at rrobbins@wacoisd.org From: Rhonda Robbins [rrobbins@wacoisd.org] Sent: Tuesday, April 05, 2005 5:32 PM To: Robbinsfamilysouthjersey@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Robbinsfamilysouthjersey] Robbins book by Wilma Robbins Meaden I am checking to see if this our Aaron Robbins or if it is another Aaron Robbins. I believe our Aaron Robbins was my great, great grandfathers brother. They lived in Arkansas. I think their dad was Richard Robbins. My great, great grandfather was George Henry Robbins. He married Nancy Ellen, I think, Lewis. They had W.D., William David I think, Robbins, Wilbur Jeff Robbins, Mary Robbins Seth, Melvin Robbins ..... in all 9 or 11 kids, can't remember them all at the moment. George and Nancy and Wilbur Jeff and his 2 sons, Frank and Roy Horace Robbins came to TX. in 1889 when the white river flooded in Arkansas and wiped out their crops. 7 Robbins families moved to Collin Co., TX lead by George and Nancy Robbins. Wilbur Jeff Robbins wife, Lydia Lewis died and is buried in Elkins, Washington Co., TX. Their 2 sons were Frank and Roy Horace. Wilbur Jeff married again and had 3 more children by Eva??????? Robbins. Their children were Jessie Robbins Christie, Letta Robbins Hughston and Leo Robbins. Leo married but had no children. He is buried at the Restland cemetery in Richardson, Dallas, Co., TX. Frank moved to Colorado Springs Co. and is buried somewhere out there with his wife. Roy Horace was my grandfather, I never knew him. He married Roberta Helen Gribble from Collin Co., TX. They are buried at Big Springs Church/Cemetery in Richardson, Dallas, Co., TX. Roberta died when my dad was 3, Roy died when my dad was a Sr. in high school. Eva Robbins, Wilbur Jeff Robbins second wife is buried in the Plano Mutual cemetery in Plano, Collin, Co., TX. this is where George Henry and ANncy Ellen Lewis are buried also. if you think this is the same family line as your book I would love to purchase a copy. If not please let me know so I can keep looking. Robbins Photo Thanks Sara, Richard Robbins is the father of my great great grandfather. Richard and Nancy Robbins had George Henry Robbins, George Henry and Nancy Ellen Lewis Robbins had Wilbur Jefferson Robbins, Wilbur Jeff and Lydia Lewis Robbins had Roy Horace Robbins, Roy Horace and Roberta Helen Gribble Robbins had Wilbur Lewis Robbins, my dad. I think my Richard Robbins came from TN but I am not sure. I think Nancy, "Old Nancy" who married Richard Robbins came from KY. again I am not sure. I am at a road block before that time. All I am sure of is that Richard and Nancy went to Arkansas and had George Henry and other siblings. I guess there are 2 Richard and George Robbins, actually I have found several George Robbins there is a George W. Robbins buried in the Allen cemetery in Allen, Collin Co., TX. Then there is my George Henry buried in the Plano Mutual Cemetery in the Plano, Collin Co., TX. only a few miles form Plano. It is hard to tell which George Robbins did what in the Collin Co., area since they both lived there at the same time. then I have found a George Washington Robbins in and around the same area. I am thinking this may be the George W. Robbins in the Allen cemetery. Anyway, thyat for the info. If you find any connection please let me know. Rhonda
