Albert Lawrence Lake

Albert Lawrence Lake, age 82, of Hampstead, NC, died on Friday, January
22, 2005. He was born in Numa, IN, on December 15, 1922, the son of the
late Harry Lake and Velma Wheat Lake. Mr. Lake was a member of Hampstead
United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a member
of the Masonic Lodge #496 in Samaria, MI. He was the former director
of Building and Grounds at Mason School in Erie, MI, for 14 years and
at Kirtland Community College in Roscommon, MI, for 13 years. Surviving
is his wife of 62 years, LaVorna Cheney Lake; three sons, Lawrence Lake
and wife Linda of Hampstead, NC, Kenneth Lake and wife Debra of LaSalle,
MI, and Gregory Lake and wife Sonia of Higgins Lake, MI; grandchildren,
Natalie Batson, Jana Lake, Mandy Sawyer, Jarrid Lake and Collin Lake;
great-grandchildren, Brandon Batson, Katie Batson, Sam Sawyer, and
Brady Sawyer; brother, Robert Lake and wife Audry; and sister, Betty Jo
Ratcliff. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 25,
2005, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel by Rev. Henry Oakes. Interment
will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be his sons,
grandsons, and great-grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7
to 8 pm on Monday at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel. Memorials may
be made to the Hampstead United Methodist Church, The Salvation Army,
