Aleta Mabel Lakins, beloved wife of the late Darius William Babcock. Survived by her children Nettie (Percy) Clow, Verona; Ray (Barbara) Babcock, Kingston and Joyce (Bradley) Hamilton, Verona. Predeceased by son Lloyd and his wife Verna and son-in-law James Edward Allen. Survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one granddaughter. Survived also by sister Florence Sagriff, Odessa. Predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Milton,Norman and sister Ila. Resting at the Lindsay Funeral Home, Sydenham for funeral sercie on Monday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Yarker. Donations to Helen Henderson Residents' Charitable foundation in Mrs. Babcock's memory would be appreciated by the family. Friends will be received Sunday, March 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. UNQUOTE Helen Henderson Care Centre is a retirement / nursing home in Amherstview, a small town just west of Kingston. The BABCOCK family line goes back to Loyalist days in the area, and there is a defunct Babcock Mill in Odessa that used to make baskets, a village adjacent to Amherstview and Kingston. Verona and Sydenham are villages just north of Kingston.
