The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 56, Number 68 Halifax NS Canada Saturday, March 20, 2004 LAKE, Alfred Benjamin "Alfie" - 80, Bramber, Hants Co., died March 19, 2004, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born December 6, 1923, in Walton, he was a son of the late Melvin and Maude (Lake) Lake. Alfie served with the West Novies overseas and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 9, and member of the Scottish Rite. He was past master of the Shore Lodge 134 and a member of Cheverie United Church. Alfie enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with all his buddies. Alfie and Vi recently had their 50th wedding anniversary. He will be dearly missed by his family and all his friends. Surviving are his wife, Viola "Vi"(Ross); sister, Madge (Orland) Lantz, Falmouth; nieces: Myrna, Bernice, Wanda, Kathy, Mary, and Barb; nephew, Marvin; special friends, Eric Crowell and Susie Robinson. He was predeceased by brothers, Ervin, Medford in infancy, triplets Merton and Ronald in infancy and Burton at two years of age. A Legion service will be held at 6:45 p.m. with visitation 7-8 p.m. today in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Highway 215, Summerville. Funeral will be held Sunday, March 21, at 2 p.m. in Cheverie United Church, Cheverie, Alex Mosher officiating. Interment in Bramber Cemetery, Bramber.
