The Hawk Eye, Burlington Iowa Sunday, 11/21/1999 Alice Lake Alice L. Lake, 68, of Carthage, Ill., died at 9:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Carthage. Born March 12, 1931, in Dallas City, Ill., she was the daughter of James H. and Beulah Joy Dugger Lake. Miss Lake worked for the Hancock County Mental Health Department in Carthage. She was raised in Dallas City, where she graduated from high school in 1947. She lived in Carthage for 20 years and for the past two years was a resident of Montebello Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton, Ill. She was a member of First Christian Church in Dallas City. Survivors include one brother, Edwin Lake of Pensacola, Fla.; and one nephew, James Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one nephew. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. The graveside service for Miss Lake will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Harris Cemetery near Dallas City, with the Rev. Phil Nevius officiating. A memorial has been established for the Hancock County Mental Health Department.
