Mar. 16, 2005 pg 8 New Hamburg ON Canada (Mar 8, 2005) -- WIGLE, (Alice) May (Lake) - Peacefully surrounded by her three daughters, on Monday, March 7, in her 81st year, after a determined and dignified struggle with multiple complications following 20 years of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Born in Clarksburg, Ont. on October 17, 1924, daughter of the late J. Lloyd Lake and Alice (Graves). May was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred Wigle in 2002, and by her sister, Lil and brother, Jack. Loving mother of Sharon Wigle-Clayton and John Clayton of Kitchener, Marilyn and Philip Friedmann of Toronto, Alyson and George Sabbagh of Corpus Christi, Texas. Cherished grandmother of Genevieve Clayton, Alexander and Jordan Friedmann and Nishan and Emily Sabbagh. Dearest sister of Allan and Saundra Lake of Clarksburg, and Sheila and Raymond Eagles of Meaford. Mom embodied this teaching of Paul in 1st Corinthians 13:13, "Meanwhile these three remain: Faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love." Mom was a devoted registered nurse for 38 years, working in California, Florida, Huntsville, Toronto Sick Children's and Sunnybrook Hospitals, Sarnia, Stratford and finally at Bonnie Brae Nursing Home in Tavistock. She was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Above all else, Mom was devoted to her family and nurtured our personal dreams and endeavors. Her grandchildren brought a sparkle to her eyes and she reveled in family gatherings. Although we are comforted in the knowledge that Mom has been called to God's heavenly home, she will be greatly missed in her earthly home. Cremation to take place. Friends and family may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of May's life will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at St. George's Anglican Church New Hamburg at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend France Ouimet-Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Society or World Vision, Canada would be greatly appreciated.
