The Tacoma News Tribune Tacoma, Washington August 11, 2013 Alice Lake Widness Passed away on June 10, 2013 at home in Anchorage, AK with her family beside her. She had been battling cancer for four years. Alice was born on November 24, 1930 in Duluth, MN to Henry and Anna Lake. She graduated in 1948 from Central High School in Duluth. Alice and her husband Don lived and raised their family in Tacoma, WA. She and Don retired to Mesa, AZ and they traveled the United States and Canada for 10 years. After Don's death in 2008 she moved to Anchorage to be near family. Alice was known and loved for her friendly, good natured personality and sense of humor. She had an uncanny ability to remember old sayings and popular song lyrics which added a wonderful dimension to her personality. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Joyce) of Anchorage and Robert (Ann) of Ketchikan, AK; grand-children Brant (Caity), Haley, Treva and Janna Harvey (Jonathan); great-grand daughter Svea Harvey; and sister Irene Norgard; nephews Mark and Randy Norgard; and nieces Nancy Lake and Pat Abshier.
