Andrew Lake

   WEST SPRINGFIELD - Andrew Lake, 70, of 354 Rogers Ave., died Tuesday at
Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He owned and operated nightclubs
in Springfield for 49 years. Born in South Hadley, he lived in Springfield
for 18 years and Wilbraham for 26 years before moving to this town six
years ago.  He graduated from Springfield College, was a communicant
of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield and served in the
Army during the Korean War. He received the Army of Occupation (Germany)
Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He belonged to Ahepa and the
Melha Shrine Temple.  He leaves his wife, the former Brenda J. Bernier;
two sons, Louis J. of West Springfield and Drew of Springfield; two
daughters, Kim A.  Silva and Cynthia R. Gomez, both of Hampden; and six
grandchildren.  The funeral will be Friday morning at the cathedral,
with burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
Calling hours are Thursday evening at West Springfield Curran-Jones
Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital
for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01004.

husband of Brenda J.  (Bernier) Lake.  Father of Louis and Drew Lake,
Kim Silva and Cynthia Gomez.  Grandfather of Andrew and Nikki Silva,
Alex and Katherine Lake, Alyssa and Robert Gomez.  Godfather of
Robert Lombardi, Dr. William Kyros and Donna Brown.  Mr. Lake will
lie in state in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral Friday a 10a.m.
with service beginning at 11a.m.  Burial in Massachusetts Veteran's
Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the WEST SPRINGFIELD
CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME Thursday 6-9p.m.  Memorial contributions may
be made to the Shriners Hospital.
