The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 58, Number 137 {Issue number confirmed} Friday June 9, 2006 Halifax NS Canada LAKE, Archie Munroe "Arch" - 87, Summerville, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, June 8, 2006 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born November 8, 1918, in Summerville, he was a son of the late Ernest and Christine (Armstrong) Lake. Arch was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas in England and Scotland from 1943-1945. He worked as a truck driver for Nova Scotia Sand and Gravel, Hubleys Concrete, and finished his career with Valley Ready-mix in Windsor. Arch enjoyed fishing and hunting, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Wood); daughters, Wendy (Robin) Patterson, Lower Sackville; Tanya (Tim) Burgess, Summerville; grandchildren, Jason, Joel, Brett, Melanie, and Erin; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Courtney, and Hannah; sister, Anita Card, Summerville; brother, Bradley (Thelma), Summerville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Rosalie; sister, Marjorie, and brother, Walt. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday, June 10, and funeral service Sunday, June 11, at 2 p.m., both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Highway 215, Summerville, followed by a private family committal service in Loyal Hill Cemetery, Summerville (reception to follow), Rev. Garnet Parker officiating.
