It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Aubrey B. Lake, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 4, 2008, at home. Born in East Walton, March 7, 1928, he was a son of the late Levi and Elsie (White) Lake. Aubrey had a dry sense of humour and was a friend to all he met. He was willing to help anyone, anytime and anywhere. He believed in a day's work for a day's pay. Aubrey was a carpenter for most of his working life. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Pauline (McLellen); daughters, Sherry (Jim) Conley, Teresa (Kevin) Lake; sons, Tom (Lynn) Lake and Roger (Linda) Lake; grandchildren, Angie (Jack) Laffin, Mark (Julie) Custance, Laura Lake, Lee Lake, Megan Lake, Michael Lake; great-grandchildren, Melody and Douglas Laffin; brothers, Vernon and Grant Lake; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Marjorie Mingo and Dennis Lake. Aubrey was predeceased by brother, Blois; sister, Verta Ward; grandson, Craig Custance. No visitation by Aubrey's request. A private family graveside committal service will be held today at 11 a.m. in Tenecape Cemetery, Tenecape, Rev. Ron Frampton officiating.
