E3 Galveston TX Barbara Freeman LA MARQUE - Mrs. Barbara Freeman departed this life Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at her home with her children and grandchildren by her bedside. Mrs. Freeman was born May 11, 1936, in Galveston, Texas, to Andrew and Lottie Gatson Lake. She was a graduate of Central High School and was a licensed vocational nurse employed with St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston for 30 years. She was also employed with Baytown Technical School as an instructor, Lakeview Health Care (Webster) and at other nursing facilities in Galveston County. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock where she served faithfully as president of the Nurse's Aide; member of the Silver Star Ministry, the Nursery Ministry and Sunday School. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lottie Ruth Perry and Andrew Lake. Left to cherish her memories are her devoted children, Carol Warren (devoted son-in-law Bryan), John Earl Freeman, Jr. (devoted daughter-in-law Debbie), Anthony G. Freeman, Sr. (special friend Malconie Cobbs), Edmund B. Freeman (Therese), Sonja Lenor (Myron), Cheryl Freeman-Alfred (Dion), 13 grandchildren, Earlisha S. Freeman, John E. Freeman, III, Chevonne Warren, Bryan C. Warren, Jr., Anthony G. Freeman, Jr., Antrelle Rollins, Geornae A. Freeman, Anton G. Freeman, Troy Shaw, Jr., Dionnah Alfred, Da'Janae Lenor, Myritha Lenor, Dazlyn Lenor; other family members and friends. HomeGoing services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church, 6333 Highway 6 in Hitchcock, Texas, with Pastor William L. Randall, Jr., officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock under the direction of Mainland Funeral Home of La Marque.
