Sacramento Bee; Sacramento CA; 2009-4-10 Barbara Janet "Janet" Lake Passed away on Friday morning, the third of April, 2009. She died peacefully in her sleep after a painful battle with cancer. Janet was a beautician for many years and owned a beauty shop in Arcata, Calif. She has been an LVN in nursing homes for many years now in Crescent City, Calif., Roseburg, Ore., and finally in Susanville, Calif. Janet cared very much for her clients and for her patients. She was gifted with the elderly and as a result many loved her as well. Janet loved the outdoors, the ocean, the mountains, the redwoods and travel. In her life she had the opportunity to enjoy all of these things. Janet was also a musician, a singer and a painter. She sold much of her art in Crescent City, as well as other areas in her travels. Janet loved God with all her heart. She was a very strong woman and thankfully in this hard time God and her faith gave her much comfort and peace to deal with the pain. She was ready to go home. Janet was survived by her mother Afton Lairson, her brother Chuck, and her sisters Orvella and Patsy. Janet has four children and 11 1/2 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Daughter Jannell is mother of Joshua and Chelyse. Chelyse is mother of great grandchild Skyler. Daughter Tatia is mother of Caitlin and Paul. Son Shane is father of Wolf, Brittany, Sydney, Aaron, Nathaniel, and Conor, and the 1/2 is due in July. Son Trevan is father of Haven. Janet has seven nieces and nephews, Donald, Lori, Laura Lee, Macy, Tim, Mary, and Joni, and their many children too. We will all miss you. Your loving son, Shane Shane Bowman, Susanville, California April 10, 2009 Dear Janet, I liked you the minute I met you, for the kindness in your eyes and your quiet creativity. When my friend passed on, under your good care,Ill never forget how openly you reached out to me, with your heart. I know you will be missed so much by those who love you and you will be missed by me, for your unreserved kindness, your loving nature. Jude Dion, Belen, New Mexico April 10, 2009 My dear friend we spent some good times together. We worked in the same convalescent in Crescent City, taking care of the elderly, I remember how your residents looked clean, comfortable and well taken care of. You sang and played the guitar to entertain them and most of all you loved them all. I will truly miss you but your love for the Almighty has taken you to a better place. Your friend forever and a day Jeanette Frizzell, Crescent City, California April 10, 2009 Mom, I will always love you. I miss you more than you could ever imagine. Thank you for giving me the gift of Music, for teaching me to use the voice you gave me, and for teaching me about faith. God took you home and I know your faith carried you there swiftly. I wish my Daughter, Haven and my Wife, Robin could have met you in person. Phone calls just aren't enough. Your voice on the other end, Heavenly as it was, still only gave a glimpse of how wonderful you are. We will all get to see you again, and when we do, all of Heaven can listen to your beautiful voice leading me in harmony again! I love you Mom! Love your son, Trevan Trevan Bowman, Pensacola, Florida
