20 June 1935 The People's Defender West Union OH Former Pond Creek Man Buried At Manchester Funeral services for Barker Lake, 58, formerly of Pond Creek, who was found dead Tuesday in a farm house three miles east of Idaho in Pike county of a heart attack, were held at the Windel-Howland Funeral Home Friday at 1:30 p. m. Burial was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Manchester. Mr. Lake was born in Adams county. He lived in Portsmouth for 20 years and worked for the Peebles Paving Brick Co. For four years he had lived with a nephew, Radford Dugan on Pond Creek. He had been living on the farm in Pike county for the last three months. He was married in 1922 to Mollie Bolton, who survives. He also leaves the following step-children: Hobert Lockhart of North Wilksboro, N. C., Mrs. Vada Sankey, Mrs. J. R. Hisson, Miss Lucille Barnes, Lloyd Lockhart of Syracuse, N.Y., and Jack Lockhart of Hillsboro. He leaves a brother, George Lake of Portsmouth, a sister, Mrs. Rennie Hudson of Sabina and one grandchild.
