Published in the Beacon News from Mar. 8 to Mar. 9, 2016 Aurora, IL Berenice G. Lake, 88, passed away March 3, 2016 at her home in Kenosha, WI with her daughter by her side. She was born in Batavia, IL on April 17, 1927. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Eleanor (Rogers) Williams. Berenice spent half of her life in Salt Lake City, UT and she returned back to the area in 2013. Berenice had a love for gardening, camping, her grandchildren and most recently her "Fireside Friends" at St. Catherine's Commons. She was preceded in death by, her husband, Lynn A. Lake; her parents; three brothers and five sisters. Berenice is survived by, her daughter, Pamela (Tim) Weber of Kenosha; two sons, William E. (Natalie) Poss of Bremerton, WA and Thomas A. (Pam) Poss of Centerville, UT; two brothers, John S. (Barbara) Williams of Elburn, IL and Ben (Bobbi) Williams of Livingston, MT; three sisters, Shirley (Guy) Prisco Pat Lusted both of Batavia, IL and Mary Lou (John) White of Elburn, IL; seven grandchildren, Tim (Becky) Weber, Robbie (Dana) Weber and Megan Weber, Lindsay (Derrick) Reese, Kyle Poss, Heather (Jeff) Sitton and Zane Poss; 10 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial and celebration of her life will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. Catherine's Commons (3524 - 7th Avenue). A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. A memorial service will also be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Moss Funeral Home in Batavia, IL with a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow the services on April 9, 2016 at the West Batavia Cemetery. Berenice's family would like to continue her love of animals by asking, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to Kindred Kittens of Kenosha and either the Rover Rescue or Humane Societies of WI or IL.
