Rodgers, Mrs. Bernice (Lakes) (Rhoades), Saginaw, Michigan. Family hour will
take place at 10:00 a.m.
Wednesday, August 16, 2000 at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Ave.
with the funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. Rev. William D. Aldridge will
officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the
funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Rodgers passed away
Friday, August 11, 2000 at her home. Age 70 years. She was born December 16,
1929 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Mattie (Simmons) Lakes
and Bishop Knight. She married Harold Rodgers on January 24, 1963. He
survives her. She is also survived by a daughter, Margaret (Floyd) Manager
of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Joyce Lakes, Glen Carbon, Ill.; and
Mary (Timothy) Proctor Price, formerly of Saginaw, now of Alton, Ill.; a
godson, Samuel Perkins, Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
