A private funeral service for Bertha B. Lake, 91, of Newark, will
be at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, with Rev. William Rauch
officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery at a later date.

Mrs. Lake, employed as a clerk for many years at Callander Cleaners, died
Aug. 17, 2002, at Newark Healthcare Centre. She was born June 24, 1911,
in Frankfort, Ky., to the late George Edward and Freida (Hurney) Bachmann.

She served as an avid Red Cross volunteer for many years and enjoyed
crossword puzzles and reading.

Mrs. Lake is survived by her son, Tom and Jane Lake Sr., of Newark;
grandson, Tom and Misti Lake Jr., of Newark; two great grandchildren,
Marisa and Alex Lake; sisters, Ruth E. Fulke and Edna M. Woolard, both
of Newark; and two nieces, Linda Woolard, of Newark, and Susan Woolard,
of Granville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley H. Lake, who died
April 15, 1990.
