Lancaster New Era; Lancaster PA; 2005-3-2 Bertha E. Lake, 89, of 400 Union St., St. Peter Apartments, died peacefully on Monday at the Lancaster General Hospital following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Daniel E. Lake who died in 1969. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Bertha Miller Banner. She held various jobs during her life and was last employed as a Sales Clerk for Hinkle's Pharmacy in Columbia. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia and the Altar Rosary Society of the church. She was a former member of the Choir and a former Trinitarian. Surviving are 2 sons: Donald E., husband of Barbara Lake of Dagsboro, Delaware and Howard L., husband of Mildred Lake of Sarasota, Florida. Also surviving is a daughter, Kathryn, wife of Amos Culp of Lancaster, PA; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie C. Yohe, of Landisville and a brother, Leo C. Banner of Lancaster. She was predeceased by sisters Elizabeth Aston and Clare Sumpman and brothers Samuel and Howard Banner. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial from the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4th & Cherry Sts., Columbia, PA on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 10:00 AM with the Rev.
