BESSIE MARIE ALLEN

Bessie Marie Allen, 85, of 437 Minor Street, Alpena, passed away at
Alpena Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, May 24, 2006.

Bessie was born in Alpena on Jan. 17, 1921, to the late John and Pearl
(Lakin) Anderson and married Clarence "Drop" Allen on March 12, 1938,
in Alpena.  He preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2005.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Lost Lake Woods
Club.

Surviving are three sons, Clarence "Jake" Allen and wife Laurie of
Alpena, William Lee Allen and wife Sandy of Alpena, Rex J. Allen and
wife Phyllis of Alpena; daughter-in-law, Bridge Allen Wertz of Alpena; 13
grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a son, Thomas Charles in 1984; one sister
Mildred Anderson; and three brothers: Fred, Bud and Lawrence.

Mrs. Allen is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call Friday
from 2-8 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Saturday at the First
Presbyterian Church from 10 until time of service on Saturday at 11
a.m. with Rev. Steven Hammond officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
