Bessie Bordwine

Services for Bessie Pauline bordwine, 76, of Owasso were held Tuesday,
August 27, at Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso.  The Rev. Jim Wheeler
officiated.  Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Tulsa under
the direction of Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.

Casket bearers were John, David, Michael and Jeffrey Bordwine.  Paul
Beebe, James Taliferro and Christy and Steven Twist.  Bordwine died
Saturday, August 24, 2002, in Tulsa.

She was born October 2, 1925, in Joplin Mo., to Simon Levi and Laura Mae
(Bailey) Lakey.  She married Edgar Wayne Bordwine on November 10, 1941,
in Tulsa.  She spent most of her working life as a homemaker.  She was
a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Louis William Bordwine and his wife, Lynn
of Tulsa, and Edgar Wayne Bordwine Jr; two daughters, Judith Lowther and
her husband, Lonnie of Oologah, and Bessie Louise Taliferro, of Owasso;
two sisters, Viola Powell, of Phoenix, and Leta Mae Carlyle of Riverside
Calif; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Wayne Bordwine; a sister,
Myrtle Adkins; and two brothers, Bill and Burl Lakey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made
to Bethel Baptist Church, Martha Sunday School Class., P.O. Box 178,
Owasso, OK  74055.
