Betty Lou Lake, long time resident of Portola Country Club, passed away
on August 30, 2008 peacefully at her home. Born in Owasso, MI in 1926,
to Clarence and Ruth Squibb, she later moved to California and married
her blue eyed and blond haired dream, Carl Lake. Betty and Carl moved
from Santa Monica to La Mirada, CA to live and raise two boys Paul and
Scott. After leaving a long career at Rosecrans Medical Group, Carl
and Betty moved to Palm Desert settling in at their dream home where
they enjoyed golf, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her brother, Bud Squibb of Bradenton FL and his wife,
Shirley; son Paul and his wife, Dawn of Redondo Beach; son Scott and his
wife, Linda of Stanton; Granddaughters, Chantal, Jessica, Brittany, and
Valerie; also, Grandson Andy and Great Grandsons, Damareai and Brandon
Davis. Private services were held on September 11, 2008 at Forest Lawn,
Cypress.
