Betty V. Lake, formerly of 125 S. Valley Drive, Hagerstown, died
Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Julia Manor Health Care Center in Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 31, 1930, in Summit Point, W.Va., she was the daughter of
the late Harry Timothy and Elsie Mae Dixon Carper.  She was preceded in
death by her husband of 55 years, Warren Lee Lake, in 1990.  She was a
graduate of Summit Point High School.  She is survived by two daughters,
Diana L. Dobson of Funkstown and Sandra M. Tarner of Hagerstown; one
sister, Bobbi A. Jones of Cashtown, Pa.; five grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy
M. Carper.  Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant View Memorial
Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.  The Rev. J. Norman Mayer will officiate.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be
Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac
St., Hagerstown.  Memorial donations may be made to John R. Marsh Cancer
Center, 1110 Medical Campus Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740; or Julia Manor
Health Care Center, 333 Mill St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
