Published in the Contra Costa Times on 11/9/2006 Contra Costa County CA Brenda Lake Wied Resident of Danville Brenda Lake Wied, 52, of Danville, California passed away on October 23, 2006. She is survived by her loving husband, John M. Wied; and children, Brandon, Allison and Michael; her mother, Gracie Hancock and husband, John Hancock of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Linda Cain and husband, Lysle of Miami, Florida; brother, Bruce Lake and wife, Mandy of San Antonio, Texas; step-father, Billy Rhodes of Baytown, Texas; and father, Clement Lake of San Angelo, Texas. Brenda was born in Wareham, MA, on October 22, 1954. She graduated from McCollum High School in San Antonio and went on to graduate from Texas A&M. She then joined the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency where she had a very successful 28-year career. The light of Brenda's life was her family. There was a special sparkle in her eyes when she would see Brandon, Allison or Michael do well and reach a goal they had set for themselves. Nothing gave her more joy than bringing happiness to those around her and making everyone feel special even if you were meeting her for the first time. A special thanks to Hope Hospice of Dublin, CA for all their help and support. Brenda will be deeply missed by her family and all who ever knew her as a friend. A private family graveside service was held on October 28, 2006 at the Garden of Memories cemetery in Kerrville, Texas. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the San Ramon Presbyterian Church, 12943 Alcosta Blvd, San Ramon, CA on Sunday, November 12, 2006.
