Kearney Hub; Kearney NE; 2003-9-1 Calli Schofield Alma resident, 37 ALMA - Calli Jo Schofield, 37, of Alma died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, near Alma as a result of a traffic accident. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Methodist Cove Shelterhouse on Harlan County Reservoir near Alma with the Rev. Lyn Seiser officiating. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Banta-Torrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to a fund for her daughters. She was born April 27, 1966, in Goodland, Kan., to Eldon and Betty (DeBoer) Lake She attended grade school and high school near Goodland. She was married to Chuck Mitchell for a short time. On Dec. 2, 1987, she married John Wells at Goodland, Kan. The family lived at Grand Lake, Colo., where they operated a marina and a snowmobile rental business. They moved to Alma in 1992. The marriage ended after about 10 years. On Oct. 15, 1998, she married David Schofield in Alma. She had been employed at the Arrow Lodge, the Dairy Barn and the Alma Golf Course. She attended the United Methodist Church in Alma. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Amanda, Lana, and Savannah Wells, all of Alma; brother, Michael Lake of Goodland; sisters Sherri Waggoner, Paula Flores, Cindy Lake and Linda Hansley, all of Dodge City, Kan.; stepson, Joshua of Colorado Springs; and stepdaughters, Shanda Fischer of Alma and Dawn and Sarah, both of Colorado Springs, Colo. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
