The Desert Sun, Palm Springs, CA Published 02 September, 2005 Carl Lake Carl Vogel Lake, 84, of Palm Desert died Aug. 20, 2005, in Palm Desert of congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was born May 29, 1921, to George and Parrie Lee Lake in Berea, Ky. He worked for Ralph's Grocery Company as a meat cutter, meat department manager and quality control supervisor, retiring after 43 years. He was a member of Portola Men's Golf Club, Solomon's Staircase Lodge 357 and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry in Palm Springs. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Lou Lake; two sons, Paul S. Lake of Redondo Beach and Scott A. Lake of Stanton; and five grandchildren. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be scheduled in November at Portola Country Club in Palm Desert. Private graveside services were held at Forest Lawn in Cypress. Arrangements were under the direction of Forest Lawn.
