Minneapolis Star Tribune Minneapolis MN Published on June 1, 2014 Gackle, Carol Lake age 85, of Edina, passed away May 24, 2014. Born October 18, 1928 in Grand Forks, ND to Myrtle and Lloyd Lake. Following graduation from the University of North Dakota in 1949, Carol married George D. Gackle, and they welcomed two daughters. Carol taught first grade in Bloomington, MN for 30 years, teaching more than 700 children to read, write, and enjoy life. She treasured traveling extensively with her family. Survived by loving husband of 65 years, George; daughters, Debra Joan Gackle and Laurel Gackle Mallon; granddaughters, Casey (Tim) Clem and Logan (Matt) Thibodeau; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Landon, Ellery, Lynnea, and Olive, plus one. Celebration of life service Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11 AM with visitation one hour preceding at: Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55435. Reception following at Point of France.
