Daily Record Middletown, NY Posted Aug. 16, 2015 at 2:00 AM March 24, 1948 - June 4, 2015 Montgomery, NY Catherine Bodtmann-Lake entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2015. She was a young, 67 years old. The daughter of Anthony Bodtmann and Hazel McHugh, Cathy was born on March 24th, 1948 in Jersey City, NJ. She lived most of her childhood and young adult life in Montgomery, NY. While living in New York, Cathy was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Walden, NY, and attended it faithfully with her three children. She loved the Lord, mightily and sought to bring others to Christ by manifesting his love in her love for others. Cathy was a fantastic sister, daughter, partner and friend, a beautiful woman whose love was truly Christ-like and sacrificial. No child could have asked for a better parent, or spiritual guardian; she prayed fiercely for her children, and anyone else in need. Her heart continually reached out to the homeless, and those who had fought life's battles and lost, loving them without judgment as the Lord's grace entered their lives through her smile. Today, the world mourns the sudden loss of a human angel who cared for many, never regarding her own well-being as important as the well-being of others. Our Mother is survived by her three children: Dawn Hoff, Michelle (Mickey) Lake, and Jack Lake, Jr. and by her partner of 16 years, Robert Michel. Cathy had six grandchildren, nine brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. The memorial in honor of our mother and friend will be held at 2 p.m., August 22nd at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2520 Rt. 208, Walden, NY 12586. Pastor Raymond Cummings will be presiding.
