Cincinnati Enquirer and Cincinnati Post; Cincinnati OH; 2005-7-8, 2005-7-9 & 2005-7-10 SCHOTT Catherine Sue (nee Lake). Passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2005 at age 87. She was born July 9, 1917; daughter of Ruth Catherine Reese and Lawrence Patton Lake. She also revered her step-mother Laura Brinkman Lake (1935-1975). She attended Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati from which she graduated June 8, 1945 receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She taught at Finneytown and Bridgetown Schools. She married William Riedlin Schott June 30, 1948 by whom she had one son. Her husband preceded her in death on October 11, 2002. Sue was a former president of Argus Club; a founding member of the Herb Society of Greater Cincinnati; and also a member of the Herb Society of America for forty years. She enjoyed gardening, an interest she shared with her husband. Her favorite garden to visit in England was Sissinghurst-the garden of Vita Sackville-West. She visited it three times each at a different season. She was a member of the Westminster Pesbyterian Church for forty-six years. Sue is survived by her son William Patton Schott her brother James Lawrence Lake and her nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11 from 1PM until time of memorial service 2PM, at Wilson Chapel at Twin Towers, 5343 Hamilton Avenue in College Hill. The Reverend Kathy Westmoreland will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Herb Society of America/Greater Cincinnati Chapter.
