Catherine "Kate" Wilma Stevens, 72 years, of Largo, FL and formerly of Luna
Pier, MI died Sat. April 1, 2000 in Largo Medical Center.  The daughter of
James and Marie (Woods) Lake, she was born March 14, 1928, in Council
Bluffs, IA. She married Charles Stevens July 24, 1950, in Toledo.  She
formerly lived in Luna Pier for 27 years, before moving to Largo in 1991.
She was a member and past  president of the James Yenor Post #192 American
Legion Auxiliary.  Kate lived for her 13 children and her family.  She is
survived by her loving husband, Charles; children, Esther (Roy Thompson)
Stevens, Charles (Lori) Stevens, Jr., John (Laurie) Stevens, Carol (James)
Huffman, Robert Stevens, Mary Stevens, James Stevens, Georgianne (Vincent)
Gomez, Betty (Dennis) Flaws, Raymond (Lisa) Stevens, and Cort (Nicole)
Stevens; five brothers, William (Carol) Lake, James (Sue) Lake, Edward Lake,
Thomas Lake, and David (Laura) Lake; 22 grandchildren, and five
great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cathy and
Susan, and a granddaughter, Amy.  Friends may call Wed. from 7 - 9 p.m. and
Thurs. from 2-9 p.m. in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave.,
Temperance, MI where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with
interment in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, LaSalle, MI.
