Lake, 91, of 1019 N. 8th Ave., was called home by our Lord on March 5 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls where she had resided since 2002. She was born Aug. 14, 1913 in Crystal Falls to Samuel and Victoria (Sliva) Karnack. She attended the Crystal Falls Schools and on Feb. 25, 1932 she married Reino A. Lake. After living their early married years in the Ironwood-Ashland area, the couple lived most of their lives in Iron River. In the middle 1960s they moved to the Chicago suburb area where they were employed, returning to retire at their home in Iron River in 1972. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1982 and their 57th wedding anniversary in 1989. Her husband preceded her in death on April 24, 1989. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Mary Nelson; two brothers, Samuel II and Charles Karnack; and two sons-in-law, Tony Bastianello and Joseph Lantz. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River and the St. Agnes Altar Society. She is survived by her children, Nancy Bastianello of Iron River, Marie (Mike) McMahon of Pickett, Wis., Vicki Lantz of Victor, Mont. and Reino (Arlene) Lake, Jr. of Iron Mountain; 14 grandchildren, Michelle (Rick) Dieckhoff, Amanda (Doug) Benjamin, Katrina (Scott) Schinderle, Toni Marie (Dennis) Gevaert, Don (Carol) Bastianello, Kristen (Bill) Mepham, Sheryl (Dave) Ross Hay, Debra Hardy, Karen (Mike) Fornshell, Jaci (Mark) LaRoux, Joanne (Steve) Wetterau, Lee Ann (Rodney) Silvis, Michael (Teresa) McMahon, Mary (Tom) Hendricks; 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Gathering Room at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10 at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Pallbearers will be grandchildren of the deceased. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Lady of the Mountains, Knights of Columbus Joseph E. Lantz Scholarship Fund (Cecelia's son-in-law) in care of the funeral home. Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River was in charge of arrangements.
