The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 52, Number 192, Halifax, NS, Canada Saturday, August 12, 2000 LAKE, Cecil Robert "Bob" - 58, 9A Christie Street, Amherst, passed away in the Highland View Regional Hospital on Friday, following a three-year courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Philip and Elizabeth "Betty" (Walsh) Lake. He was an employee of Transport Canada and later Nav Canada for over 31 years until his retirement in 1997. In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia "Pat" Purcell; daughter, Shauna, Amherst; sons, Robert "Bob", Amherst; Ronald "Ron", Nappan; sisters, Sheila Barkhouse and her husband Wallace, Port Howe; Faith Gorham and her husband Donald, Tottenham, Ont.; Sharon Lake, Dartmouth; Veronica Conrod, Red Deer, Alta.; brothers, Philip and his wife Joan, Toronto, Ont.; John and his wife Krista, Amherst; grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler, Shane and Beverly Rose. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Anna Marie. His remains have been cremated and a memorial service will be held in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, Amherst on Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Donnie Miller officiating. Following the service there will be a reception in the Cumberland Memorial Chapel Reception Hall.
