The Blade; Toledo OH; 2007-2-17 Cecile Bertha Lake Barber 1916-2007 BARBER Cecile Bertha Lake Cecile Bertha Lake Barber, 90, died Friday, February 16, 2007, at the Whitehouse Country Manor in Whitehouse, Ohio. She was born near Tontogany, Ohio on the family farm across from Otsego Park on May 3, 1916, to Vincent Ray and Leota (Coburn) Lake. On March 18, 1937, she married Paul Barber, he preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Barber was a 1934 graduate of Grand Rapids High School. She worked as a cook for various nursing homes and private homes in the area for over 19 years. She attended the Neapolis Church of Christ. Cecile was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Mrs. Barber was a gifted quilter, creating over 200 quilts. Mrs. Barber is survived by her children, Loren Barber, David Barber of Grand Rapids, Suzanne Thorn of Liberty Center; 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jim and 3 sisters. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2007, in the Peinert Funeral Home, in Whitehouse, OH, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Tom Bates officiating followed by interment at Mt.
